Thelma Woodward

Thelma Jean (Russell) Woodward, (Sissy Jean to all her nieces and nephews), age 79, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. She was born February 12, 1940, to Fred and Hazel Gordon Russell, who preceded her in death. She was married to Harold Fuson (Woody) Woodward, who also preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Bennett’s Fork Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. Sissy Jean will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, T.J. Russell; Sister, Helen West; and nephew, Jamie West.

She is survived by the following family members: Son, Wayne Woodward; Grandson, Dawson Woodward; Sister, Lois (Marvin) Branham; Brothers, Don Russell and George Russell; all of Middlesboro, KY. Special Nieces, Lesha Beeler, Haley McWilliams, DeeDee Branson, Dr. Carabeth Russell, Nicole Russell and Dr. Aimee Russell Grace. Special Nephews, Rick Russell, Lee Branham, Shawn Russell, Chris Branham, Adam Russell and a host of other cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 13, 2019 with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Russell officiating. Obituary will be read by Mr. Jon Grace and music will be provided by David Painter and Nickols Branson.

Pallbearers will be Rick Russell, Lee Branham, Chris Branham, Adam Russell, Jason Russell and Doug Branson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Russell and Devin Foster.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Hooper Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.
