Steve Rodney Harrell, age 77, of Middlesboro, KY, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1946, in Middlesboro, KY to the late Henry Clay and Sadie Lou Snodgrass Harrell.
Steve enjoyed spending time outdoors; whether he was casting a line, ready for the next big catch, or finding the perfect spot to set up camp, he found great pleasure in the solace nature offered. He was a skilled craftsman. He could create objects of beauty from all types of wood. One of his greatest delights was cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats. Game days were anticipated with unmatched excitement.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay and Sadie Lou Snodgrass Harrell; great-grandson, Kamden; siblings, Lee Harrell, Mary Hoskins, Martha Thomas, Cleo Gray, Lewis Harrell; and beloved fur-baby, Sugar “Shugie”
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Stewart Harrell; children, Lisa (Dawell) Baker, Steve Rodney Harrell, Jr., Michelle McManaway, David Hill, Heather North, and honorary son, Kenny Gilman; grandchildren, Dustin Baker, Kyle Baker, Eric Baker, Ashley Barnett, Amber North (Matt Helton), Ricky North, Tori Hill, Brandon Hill, Blake Jones,Shana (RJ) Brown, Bradley Harrell, Aaron (Kayla) McManaway, Tara (Steve) Chumley, Jordan (Samantha) Harrell, and Zoe McManaway; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Gracie, Carter, Kameron, Skyla, Jocelyne, Lillie, Junior, Bentley, Blaine, Raylon, Keaton, Kaylee, Landon, Mia, Simon, Raylynn, and Ryelynn; several honorary grandchildren, who considered him their "Pappy"; and sister, Della Miracle, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
