Shirley Dyer

Shirley Sue Dyer, age 81, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Tri-State Nursing and Rehabilitation in Harrogate, Tennessee. She was born on August 4, 1938 to the late Johnny and Vestie Jones Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Sam Evans, Claude Evans, Dall Evans, Silas Evans, Johnny “June” Evans, Tip Evans and Glen Evans; her sisters: Sible Cheek and Eddie Summers

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Son: Ronnie (Karen) Dyer of Middlesboro, KY

Daughter: Wanda Dyer (Larry) Martin of Richmond, KY

Brother: Bill Evans of Jacksboro, TN

6 Grandchildren: Mary Whitaker, Stephanie Whitaker, John Michael Whitaker, Michelle (David) Gilbert, Chris (Brittany) Gilbert and Stephen (Sarah) Gilbert.

And a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Sharp Cemetery in Claiborne County, TN. Pallbearers will be Freddy Hardin, Clint Ausmus, Johnathan Hardin, John Michael Whitaker, Chris Gilbert, Stephen Gilbert and Ayden Whitaker. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
