Penny Cantrell

Penny Annette (Maiden) Cantrell, age 61, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Baptist Health Center in Corbin, KY surrounded by her loved ones.

Penny will be remembered as a strong, selfless, courageous woman who was loved by so many. Her smile and laugh were contagious. The love she had for her children was unconditional. They were the light of her life, and she would do anything in the world for them. Her dogs, Rocky and Paisley, also meant the world to her, she treated them as if they were her children.

She loved spending time with family and taking beach trips every year. So many memories we will cherish forever.

Penny was a lifelong resident of Middlesboro KY. She was retired as a personnel manager for Walmart, where she had worked since she was a teenager.

Penny is preceded in her death by her parents, James Vernon Maiden and Margaret Ann Maiden (Murray); and her husband, Larry Cantrell.

Her brother, Greg Maiden and her sisters, Sherry (Curtis) Knuckles and Christie Helton (Vijay) Alagarraj

Sister-in-law, Jan Southern and brother-in-law, Stephan (Tena) Cantrell

Her nieces and nephews, Kaitlin (Nick) Maiden, Anthony (Lauren) Maiden, Cameron (Kayla) Rancher, Amara Alagarraj, Margot Willis, Asher Maiden and Daisy Maiden

The family of Penny Maiden Cantrell will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Curt Knuckles presiding.

Interment for Penny Maiden Cantrell will immediately follow the funeral service in the Mountainview Cemetery at Harrogate, TN.  Pallbearers will be her brothers-in-law, Curtis Knuckles, Vijay Alagarraj and Stephan Cantrell; her nephews, Cameron Rancher, and Anthony Maiden; and family friend, Josh Hunley.
