Patsy L. Gambrel, age 80, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on March 16, 1939, the daughter of the late Earl and Ruby Mahan Godfrey.
She was a member of the Hensley Chapel Baptist Church. She was a very devoted and loving mother who had a unique way of making each of her children feel as though they were her favorite child. She was a cat lover, who never turned any stray away.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gambrel; son, Eddie England; grandparents, Dollie and Roy Mahan; uncle, Milton Mahan; and her beloved cousin, Billie Hooper.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Joe Evans of Lexington, KY; son, Darryl England of Middlesboro, KY; grandchildren, Brad Evans, Rachel Evans, Brianne England, and David England; special friends, Margaret “Beany” and Devin Earls; her first husband, Leon England; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Sutton presiding. Music will be provided by the Hensley Chapel Baptist Church Choir.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
