Opal Mae Boggs, age 78, Middlesboro, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2019. She passed away at Middlesboro ARH Hospital after an acute illness. She was born in Harlan, Kentucky to parents, Thomas and Alma Mitchell on April 29, 1940. She married her high school sweetheart, Chalmus Boggs.

Although she spent her last years’ bedridden from a stroke, she never lost her vivacious personality, quick wit or love of laughter. Prior to the stroke, she loved to play the piano, crochet and make quilts.
She is now at peace in heaven with her many loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents, her brother Thomas Mitchell II, husband of many years Chalmus Boggs, son Chalmus Boggs, Jr and son-in-law Danny Weaver.
She is survived by her daughters Alma Weaver and Deborah Cornett, granddaughter Allie Cornett, son-in-law Adam Cornett, several nieces, nephews and special aunt & friend Anna Sue Boggs.
All who loved her dearly will never forget her love of God, her tenacity and strength.
