Mitchell Blackwell

Mitchell Franklin Blackwell, age 80, 0f Westland, MI, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 in a house fire. He was born on April 4, 1939 in Calhoun, TN, the son of the late William Jordan Blackwell and Essie Mae Doss Blackwell.

He served in the military; Army Branch, then went to Michigan in the 1960’s where he retired from Chrysler Motor Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Senters Blackwell (who survived 47 days after his death in the burn unit until her passing on September 14, 2019); brothers, Walter Blackwell, Billy Blackwell, and Herbert Blackwell; sister and brother-in-law, Edna Blackwell Derric and Robert Derric; and two infant siblings.

He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Blackwell will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at the Elydale Cemetery in Ewing, VA with Rev. Shelvie Fultz officiating. Music will be by Wilma and David Redmond. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
