Michael Wilder

Michael Keith Wilder (Mikey), age 56, of Middlesboro, KY, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 19, 2019 after his courageous fight with several illnesses. He was born on February 25, 1963, the son of Opal Hurst Wilder and the late Charles Doice Wilder.

He was employed for several years by Mobile Glass and he volunteered with the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department. His passion was helping others in need and he was always there to lend a helping hand. He also loved the outdoors, whether he was on the lake fishing, in the mountains hunting or just riding, he always enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. His love for life was infectious. He will truly be missed.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Wilder.

He is survived by his mother, Opal Hurst Wilder; siblings, Geri (John) Ravnum of Cumberland Gap, TN, David (Linda) Wilder of Paintsville, KY, Debbie Good of Harrogate, TN, Sheron (Donnie) Smith, Tim (Lynn) Wilder and Greg (Teresa) Wilder, all of Middlesboro, KY; special friend, Gary Allen, whom he loved like a brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Shanshal and his staff for the excellent care and support during Mike’s illness. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made directly to Creech Funeral Home in Mike’s name toward the funeral expenses.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeremy Glenn presiding. Pallbearers will be James Barnett, William Osborne, Danny Hurst, Cephus Barnett, Madison Barnett and Ben Barnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Allen and Haston Ingram.

Graveside service will immediately follow the funeral service at the Good Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY.
