Mark Allen Tapp, age 61, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away tragically on Monday, October 17, 2022, at his place of employment. He was born October 13, 1961, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the son of the late Philip and Joan Tapp.
Mark worked as a production floor attendant in the sanitation department for Smithfield for over 13 years. He loved his co-workers and made many friends while working there. Before living in Middlesboro, Mark resided in Ft. Wayne, IN, where he was born and raised. He started his career in his Father’s family grocery, Tapp’s Grocery, where he followed in his Father's footsteps as a butcher.
Mark was an active member and Sunday School Teacher at Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY. Those who were blessed to know Mark, knew he was a devout Christian, loving husband, proud father, a friend to everyone he met, and an extremely hard worker. Mark met no strangers! He was friendly to everyone, always spreading cheer, sharing smiles, and starting conversations with everyone. He was always talking about his family and how proud he was of them.
Mark loved his wife April; their boys, Johnathan and Jackson; his daughters, Katie and Samantha; his pets, little dog “Stoney” and cat “Mittens”, dearly. His grandchildren KJ and Trinity always held a special place in Marks heart.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Philip and Joan Tapp; brother, John Tapp; and sisters, Kim Martin and Diane Rooney.

Sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Owen) Beck of Middlesboro, KY, Sarah Asher of Lexington, KY, Georgianna (Randall) Good of Middlesboro, KY, Debra (Jason) Good of Harrogate, TN, and Abigail Wilson of Middleboro, KY
Special brother-in-law, Richard Asher of Middlesboro, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews with a special acknowledgement of his nieces, Brittanie, Brianna and Adriann Strouth.
The family of Mark Tapp will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, October 21, 2022, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Greene presiding. Pallbearers will be his nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, Steve, Gregg, Jeff and Scott. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Mountainview Cemetery, Greer Chapel Road in Harrogate, TN.
