Margie Cobb

Margie Partin Cobb was born in the Laurel Fork area of Frakes, KY, on October 4, 1933, and died surrounded by loved ones on February 21, 2022, in Harrogate, Tennessee. She was one of 8 children of Chester and Angeline Maiden Partin. Margie attended Henderson Settlement School and spent some of her early adulthood living and working in Ohio. She married Arlie Cobb, also from Frakes, in 1954. They had 4 children – Kathy, Douglas, Darrell and Leah Shannon.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Zella Miracle, Gladys Penley, Thelma Jones, Verda Collins and brother Dewey Partin, children Kathy Cobb Sturgill and Douglas Cobb, and grandson Arlie Napier.

She is survived by her sisters Bessie Partin, Lafollette TN, and Ruby Smith, Canton Michigan, husband Arlie Cobb, Middlesboro, son Darrell (Annette) Cobb of Middlesboro, daughter Dr Leah Shannon (Larry) Snodgrass of Harrogate, 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren including 3 sets of twins.

She was a member of West Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church in Middlesboro.

In her final years, Margie was afforded excellent care and shown great kindness and love by the staff of Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation in Harrogate, Tennessee. Her roommate, Gloria Petroni, was a blessing.

Margie was a beloved mother, faithful wife, and precious friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. John Ditty presiding.  Music will be provided by Jeremy Wilson, Mitchell and Rachel Cosby.

Interment will be private.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Perry Cobb and Larry Snodgrass.

The family of Margie Cobb will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.
