Margaret Schmelz

Margaret Helen Schmelz, age 92, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehab Facility in Middlesboro, KY. She was born March 23, 1930, the daughter of the late Gibson B. Sharp and Edna Ruth Gray Sharp.

Margaret was a faithful member of East Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church. Margaret cherished her family, as well as her church family.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death her husband, John Schmelz; daughter, Phyllis June McCoy; son, Harold Schmelz; brothers, Jake Sharp and Kenneth Sharp; and sisters, Mary Wyatt and Ida Sharp.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheilah (Thomas) Brooks; granddaughters, Leisha (Matt) Owens and Larissa (Bruce) Roberts: great-grandchildren, Cody Roberts, Derek Mullins and Brandon Owens; great, ang great-grandchildren, Emily Roberts, Eleanor Roberts and Bentley Jones.

The family of Margaret Helen Schmelz will receive friends on Friday, November 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.

Memorial services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Tyler DeBusk presiding. Graveside services will be private.
