Leon Edward England, 87, of Ewing, VA, formerly of Middlesboro, KY, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at Sayre Christian Village in Lexington, KY. He was born December 19, 1933 in Clairfield, TN, the son of the late Herman and Edna Prater England. He was a longtime member of the Hensley Chapel Baptist Church. Leon, along with his partner Eulis Adkins, operated the Texaco Service Station on Cumberland Avenue for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Eddie England, 2 Brothers: Roger England and Junior England, and the mother of his children: Patsy Gambrel. He is survived by the following members of his family:
Children: Cathy (Joe) Evans, Darryl England and Randy Earls.
Grandchildren: Brad, Rachel, Brianne, Jessica, David, Sarah and Devin.
His longtime companion: Ruby Ealy
Special Nephew: Jimmie England
2 Sisters: Margaret England Schooler and Mildred Williams
And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Sutton presiding. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Cawood Funeral Home.
