John Godsey

John D Godsey age 91, of Ewing, VA passed away peacefully October 20, 2021 in Clintwood, VA.  He was a social man that had a love for God and all of those around him. He was known for his love of collecting valuables as simple as coins and stamps. He had a passion for the Lord so much that he and his wife would spend time writing songs about what God had done for them. Even in his last of days, he was surrounded by family and staff of the nursing home that seen his kind and compassionate personality. He will greatly be missed by all of those that he made a lasting impression on through his life. Romans 8:18 says, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” John was able to reveal the glory of Christ and the love Jesus has for those around Him.

John was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mose and Lindsey Godsey, and his wife, Dorsie Godsey.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Susan and Austin Brooks, his grandchildren, Nicholas Brooks and Gabrielle Mike, their spouses Taylor Brooks and Thomas Mike, and his great-grandchildren, Grayson and Allyson Mike.

Graveside services for John D Godsey will be held Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Middlesboro Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY.
