Jason Barnes

Jason Robert Barnes, age 43, of Ewing, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.  He was born on March 19, 1980, to the late William Robert Barnes and Sherry (Bailey) Barnes.  He professed his faith at an early age and was a member of Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church, Ewing, Virginia.

In addition to his father, Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. Lee and Ann Bailey and paternal grandparents, William F. and Hattie Marie Barnes.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kylie Grace Barnes (Harrogate, Tennessee); fiancé, Christine Howard and her children, Richard and Charity (Caryville, Tennessee); mother, Sherry Epperson (Ewing, Virginia); sister, Leslie (Jason) Hunter (Speedwell, Tennessee); brother Brian Barnes (Ewing, Virginia); niece, Tiffany (C.J.) Snodgrass (Harrogate, Tennessee); special nephew, Brantley Hunter; great-niece, Amelia Grace Snodgrass; and special cousins, Vickie Nicely, Willie Roberts, Mike Roberts, Adam Barnes, Matthew Waples, and Michael Waples as well as a host of family and friends.

The family of Jason Robert Barnes will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, Kentucky.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Meyers presiding.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Roberts, Willie Roberts, Adam Barnes, Brian Barnes, Matthew Waples, Michael Waples, Josh Ashwander, and Ethan Nicely.
