James Earl Leach (Jim Leach), age 78, of Harrogate, TN, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born on May 26, 1940, the son of the late Elmer Leach and Florence Bass. He was a faithful member of the Pump Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Sisters, Dorothy Jean Gulley and Joann Carmack; Brother, Elmer “Slick” Leach, Jr. and Brother-in-law, Eugene Gulley.
He is survived by the following: his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Leach of Harrogate, TN; Son, Jimmy (Jennafer) Leach of Knoxville, TN; Daughter, Cindy (Joe) Porter of Harrogate, TN; Grandchildren, Emily Leach and Tyler Leach; Sister and Brother-in-law, Mary Lou (Cecil) McBee of Middlesboro, KY; Brother, Charlie Leach of Harrogate, TN; three life-long friends, LeRoy (Nila) Fogle, Ross Edwards and David Hamlet; his Hardee’s Breakfast Crew and a host of several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019, with a Memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., with Pastor Scott Cannon presiding, at the Pump Springs Baptist Church in Harrogate, TN.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pump Springs Baptist Church Building Refresh Fund.
