Jacqueline “Jackie” Stotts, age 73, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, while surrounded by her children at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was born January 24, 1948, the daughter of the late Ina Mae Bishop.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Boyd Ray Stotts; her sisters, Phyllis Shupe and Brenda Barnett; brother, Paul Estep; brothers-in-law, Eddie, Michael, Johnny and Carles Smith; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; as well as her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Jackie was an avid UK fan and rarely ever missed watching a UK basketball game. She was a true Wildcat in every sense of the word. Even though she was a very private person, she never met a stranger. She had a smile that would set anyone’s heart at ease. She prided herself in her ability to grow and take care of her flowers. She loved going places with her kids, even if it was just going out for an ice cream.
In the past couple of years, one of her greatest passions and love became peanut M&M’s. She was never without them and always made sure she had a backup supply. She loved “oldies” music, and she loved to dance as much as her family loved to watch her. Jackie’s greatest treasure in life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her calling was to be a mother, to serve and love. It didn’t matter if it was her child or not, she was a mother figure to everyone who needed her.
Jackie also loved the Lord. She was a Christian and possessed a quiet yet strong relationship with her Savior. With her last words to her family being “I Love Jesus”, she left no doubt that she will have all of her family with her again someday.
She is survived by the following members of her family:
Children, Boyd Ray (Candy) Stotts, Sherri (Mickey) Brock, Chasity Stotts, and Chris (Katie) Stotts
Grandchildren, Kayla (Kobi) Parsons, Jonathan (Sarah) Stotts, Boyd Ray Stotts, Jacob Brock, Stacelyn (Corey) Womack, Blake Fleeman, Ashlyn Fleeman, Taylor Fleeman, and Eli Stotts (Little Man)
Great-Grandchildren, Kynlei Rae Parsons, Knox Leo Parsons, Gabriella Faith Brock, Jakson Womack, Zhane Womack, and Luke Womack
Sisters and Brothers, Pauline (Bill) Phipps, Mary Estep, Sarah Bishop, Mike Estep, Troy Estep, and Glen Estep
Sisters-in-law, Joyce Smith, Annette Robbins, Charlene Smith and Zonia Milligan
And a host of other loved ones, nieces, nephews, and dear friends and neighbors.
The family would like to give special thanks and recognition to the Middlesboro Police Department, Middlesboro EMS, and Air Evac, all of the staff in the trauma surg ICU at UT and especially the amazing team on the Hospice/Comfort Care floor. Mckenzie and Lindsey, her nurses, who helped us more than they will ever know. Thanks to her special neighbor, Lucas Carter, who made sure that her lawn was always picture perfect and did it with such a kind and caring heart. Thanks goes to everyone who loved her and showed that in any way. You will always be appreciated.
