Hershel Moyers

Hershel Glenn Moyers age 82, of Middlesboro, KY passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022.  He was born December 22, 1940 the son of the late Clayton Thomas Moyers and Ruby Rose Hamlett Moyers.  Hershel retired from the Division of Mine Reclamation and Enforcement after 27 ½ years. He was a longtime member of Millers Chapel Baptist Church where he served as song leader and a Deacon.  Hershel was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 61 years Margaret Gordon Moyers.

Hershel is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Gordon Moyers; daughter Kim Wilson and her husband Chris; sons: Danny Moyers and his fiancé Sarah Partin; Scotty Moyers and his wife Wendi; and Stephen Moyers.  Grandchildren: Mary Margaret (Kylor) Wilson; Jordan Wilson, Rayann (Brandon) Bisceglia, Shae (Jake) Brock, Taylor (Chase) Elliott, Raeghan Moyers, Taylor Moyers and Devon Moyers.  Great-grandchildren:  Gabby Brock, Hazel Ann Bisceglia, Ezmeray Drew Elliott.  Sister Pinkie Williamson and brother Arthur “Hardrock” Moyers. As well as other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home, Middlesboro, KY.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Terry and Rev. Travis Thompson officiating.  Music will be provided by the Terry family. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Yearys Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY.  Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Jordon Wilson, Devon Moyers, Chris Wilson, Kylor Wilson, Brandon Bisceglia, Chase Elliott, Nick Shoffner and Clayton Moyers.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Junior Maiden, Jake Brock and Deacons of Millers Chapel Baptist Church: Freddy Byrd, Randal Collins and Craig Moyers.
