Helen Redmond

Helen Ruth Redmond, age 80, of Middlesboro, KY passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middlesboro, KY.  She was born August 16, 1940, the daughter of the late Luther Poore and Irene Davis Poore.

She attended Red Oak Baptist Church since the 1950’s.  She loved her grandchildren, Nicholas and Rachel, beyond measure and would always talk and brag about them to others.  She loved flowers and her flower garden.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Verlin Poore, Michael Poore, and Willard Poore; and her sister, Joyce Smith.

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Her loving husband of 55 years, Glen Redmond of Middleboro, KY

Daughter, Sandra Redmond of Middlesboro, KY

Sons, Randall Redmond of Corbin, KY, and Mark (Robin) Redmond of Bell County, KY

Grandchildren, Nicholas and Rachel Redmond

Siblings, Carol Redmond, Charles Poore, Roy Poore, Judy Teague, and Jeff (Janie) Poore

And a host of many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Christy Bean and the staff of the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middlesboro, KY.

The family of Helen Ruth Redmond will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel in Middlesboro, KY.  Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Jones and Rev. Marshall Freeman presiding.  Music will be provided by the Red Oak Baptist Church Choir.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers: Ancil Redmond, Ernie Davis and William Cawood.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, at the Yellow Hill Cemetery in Middlesboro, KY.
