Gracie Cupp Lundy

Gracie Cupp Lundy, age 96, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Middlesboro, KY. She was born March 16, 1928, the daughter of the late Jim Cupp and Caroline Miracle Cupp.

Throughout her life, Gracie was known for her unwavering commitment to her family and community. She had a passion for gardening, often seen nurturing her plants and sharing the fruits of her labor with neighbors and friends. Her culinary skills were equally extensive; she delighted in cooking for everyone around her. 

She was also an avid quilter. This creative pursuit allowed her to stitch together not just fabric but also a tapestry of memories, cherishing the moments spent with family and friends as she crafted each piece. Gracie's hands were also open to embrace all who entered her life.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grant Lundy; daughter, Ruby Lundy Baker; and nineteen siblings. 

Gracie is survived by her children, Helen (Gillis) Cox, Franics Rice, and Linda Sue (Johnny) Burgans; brother, Paul Cupp of Barbourville, KY; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; sixteen great, great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

She leaves behind memories that will be fondly cherished by all who knew her. Gracie's legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in her life. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

The family of Gracie Cupp Lundy will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Hatfield presiding. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Sue Johnson, Harvest Time House of Prayer. 

At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will follow in procession to the Wilder Cemetery in Brownies Creek, KY, where graveside services will be held.

Pallbearers will be Steve Rice, Ernie Rice, Anthony Rice, Rollie Williams, Ethan Williams, Caleb Williams, Justin Cupp and Coy Paver.
