Goldie Lowe

Goldie Hurst Lowe, age 89, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Middlesboro, KY. She was born on April 22, 1930, the daughter of the late General and Sidney Brown Terry.

She was a member of the Ferndale Missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening, sewing, making quilts and attending church. She also loved all of her family, friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Sherman Hurst; son, Pete Hurst; grandson, Joseph Hurst; two infant great-grandsons; sisters, Nona Freeman and Denny Mullins; brothers, Eugene Terry, Mathew Terry and Euriah Terry; three infant brothers; and past husbands, Hubert Partin and Frankie Lowe.

She is survived by her children, Joe (Peggy) Hurst, General (Linda) Hurst, Jesse Hurst and Georgia (Andy) Maiden, all of Frakes, KY; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and special friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayland Mason and Rev. Lee Mahan officiating. Music will be provided by the New Vine Missionary Baptist Church singers.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at the Town Creek Cemetery in Arthur, TN.
