Glen "Teddy" Redmond

Glen "Teddy" Redmond age 83 of Middlesboro, KY passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middlesboro, KY.  He was born June 4, 1939, in Gibson Station, Virginia, the son of the late Lee and Edna Redmond.

Glen was known as the kind tall man that walked Cumberland Avenue with his walking stick.  He never saw a stranger and looked forward to seeing friends on his walks.  He loved going back to the mountain and holler where he was raised and listening to gospel music, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren Nicholas and Rachel who he loved more than anything in this world.  Glen was of the baptist faith and loved talking about the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 55 years, Helen Redmond.  Infant brother Luther and infant sister Opal Redmond and brothers Pete and Carl Redmond.

Glen is survived by the following members of his family:

Daughter, Sandra Redmond of Middlesboro, KY

Sons, Randal Redmond of Corbin, KY and Mark (Robin) Redmond of Pineville, KY.

Grandchildren, Nicholas and Rachel Redmond.

Siblings, Doyle (Kathy) Redmond of Middlesboro, KY, Ancil Redmond of Middlesboro, KY, Charlie Redmond of Tazewell, TN, Maxine (Donnie) Roark of Middlesboro, KY.  Sister and brother-in-laws, Carol Redmond of Middlesboro, KY, Charles Poore of Middlesboro, KY, Roy Poore of Knoxville, TN and Jeff (Janie) Poore of Middlesboro, KY.

As well as a host of many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Christy Bean and the staff of the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Middlesboro, KY.

Services for Glen "Teddy" Redmond will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Barnett and Rev. Dale Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Music will be provided by Mr. Ronnie Carey and the Meldrum Baptist Church Choir.

A graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Yellow Hill Cemetery on the Old Pineville Pike.
