Gerald Lawson

October 11, 1952 — January 17, 2019

Gerald Lawson, age 66, of Cubbage, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Middlesboro ARH surrounded by his family. He was born October 11, 1952; son of the late Cager and Ada Miracle Lawson of Miracle, Kentucky.

He married the love of his life Janie Sue Wilder Lawson of Cubbage, Kentucky on November 27, 1971. He gave his life to the Lord in December of 1982. He served as the pastor of The House of Prayer for 22 years. He worked as a coal miner for 25 years and was a respected member and business owner in his community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Nancy Wilder. Brother and Sister-in-Law, Laure and Jolene Lawson; Brother-in-laws, Hugh Wilder, Lowell Wilder, Winston Wilder and Britt Wilder; and Sister-in-law, Deborah Hunley.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following:

Son: Joseph (Beverly) Lawson of Middlesboro, Kentucky

Daughter: Melissa Sue (Bert) Marcum of Blue Springs, Tennessee

Grandchildren: Johnathan and Jessica Burnett of Middlesboro, Kentucky

Brothers: Orville (Millie) Lawson of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Marion (Goldina) Lawson of Miracle, Kentucky

Sisters: Janet (Elmer) Maiden of Frakes, Kentucky; Helen Miracle of Miracle, Kentucky

Special Friend: Jimmy Nelson

And a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in laws; nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. James Wilder and Brother Orville Lawson presiding. Music will be provided by brother Marion and Goldina Lawson.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Cubbage Cemetery, in Cubbage, Kentucky. Pallbearers are Joseph Lawson, Johnathan Burnett, Bert Marcum Jr., Jesse Allen, Josh Lawson, Cager Lawson, Chris Lawson, Anthony Nelson and Roger Wilder.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Baerman and Nurse Tonya; Dr. Neil Barry and Karen McDaniels; and Dr. Andrew Buckley and the ER staff at the Middlesboro ARH.
