Georgia Southerland

Georgia May Southerland, age 75, of Hulen, KY passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in the VA Lexington Healthcare Center, Lexington, KY.  She was born December 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Floyd Southerland and Ethel Hobbs Southerland.  Georgia served in the U.S. Army and attended the Blackmont Baptist Church.  Georgia enjoyed traveling with her sisters and spending time with her family.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Paul Southerland, Claude Southerland, Earl Southerland, Annette Vires, Floyd Southerland, Jr., McKinley Southerland, Mary Jo Turner, Thomas Southerland and Yvonne Stoner.

She is survived by her sisters; Shirley Moore of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Brenda Patterson (Rick) of Morrow, OH, and Linda Southerland of Lexington, KY; 17 nieces and nephews and several other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Blackmont Baptist Church, Hulen, KY and on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackmont Baptist Church.  Graveside services will immediately follow in the Tackett Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
