Franklin Wright

Franklin D Wright, age 83, of Cumberland Gap, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, peacefully at his home. He was born on October 30, 1935, the son of the late Sterling and Maggie (Treece) Wright.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Hazel Wright; sister and brothers, Eula and Hobart Perkey, Iva Smith, Irene and Charles Depew, Ray Wright and Othella Wright Hurst; sister and brother-in-laws, Juanita and Clayton Sweat, Bonnie and Frank Pebley, Opal and James Evans, Shelby and Ray Clawson, Eugene Evans and Billy Joe Thomas; son-in-law, Jerry Branham, Sr.; and great-grandson, Brantley Upton.

He is survived by his daughter, Becky Jones; grandson and wife, Jerry and Chrissy Branham, Jr.; great-grandsons, Tommy, Matthew, Wyatt, Samuel, Levi and Bryson; sister-in-laws, Billie Evans and Patsy Thomas; and a host of other family and friends.

The family sends a special thank you to all the staff and nurses of the Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Byrd and Gary Mundy presiding. Music will be provided by Frank Chumley. Pallbearers will be Bradley Carroll, Chad Hall, Jerry Neal, Andy Welch, Bobby Chumley and Zeth Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Treece, Gordon Bright, Billy Earl, Jason Patterson, Ronnie Hawk, Guy Evans and George Dyer. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Old Red Hill Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.
