Floyd Murphy, Jr.

Floyd Murphy, Jr., age 63, of Harrogate, TN entered his Heavenly home on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born in Pineville, KY, on June 24, 1961, to the late Floyd Murphy, Sr. and Juanita Wilson Murphy, who survives him. 

Floyd was a longtime member of Chadwell Station Baptist Church in Ewing, VA, where he served as a Deacon. He loved to travel in his free time. Floyd loved people and shared his kind spirit with everyone he met. He is remembered by those who loved him most as a loving husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law. 

Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Murphy, Sr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carrie McGeorge Murphy; sons, Jonathan (Ana) Murphy of Holtville, CA and Eric (Samantha) Murphy of Ewing, VA; daughters, Kimberly (James) Ledford of Stokesdale, NC and Krista Murphy of Tazewell, TN; grandchildren, Alexia Murphy, Aidan Murphy, Patrick Murphy, Liam Murphy, Samuel Langley, Thomas Barber, Zoey Murphy, Hadley Ledford, and Corbin Ledford; and mother, Juanita Wilson Murphy; as well as a host of other family and friends.

The family of Floyd Murphy Jr. will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY. Masonic Rites will begin at 12:45 p.m. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Blevins presiding. 

At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, where gravesides services will be held. 

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Murphy, Eric Murphy, Lawrence McGeorge, Russell Ramsey, James Ledford, and Gary Greene. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Chadwell Station Baptist Church building fund.
