Elsie Pierce

Elsie Pierce, age 84, of Speedwell, TN passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 peacefully at her home. She was born on May 30, 1936; the daughter of the late Robert Tolliver and Rennie North Tolliver.

She was of the holiness faith and loved singing and working for the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Pierce; sisters, Nellie Rose, Alice Rose, Pearlie Ward and Lovella Minton; and her brothers, Claude Tolliver and Robert Tolliver.

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Children: Ricky (Maria) Braden of Speedwell, TN and Rebecca Braden of Middlesboro, KY

Granddaughters:  Terri Braden, Jennifer (Michael) Bradley and Katie Braden

Great Granddaughters:  Kara Bradley and Zoey Bradley

Siblings:  Vellie Mae Woodby, Verney Minton, Lovene Smith and Ernest Tolliver

And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shipley Grove Church of God Mtn. Assembly in Speedwell, TN.  Funeral service will immediately follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Ellison and Rev. Jay Walden officiating.  Music will be provided by Lisa Moyers.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Pierce, Joe Pierce, Elijah Ellison, Brad McNew, Robert Ellison and Michael Bradley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Willie “Litter Bug” Woodby and Earl Ellison.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the Braden-Hunley Cemetery in Speedwell, TN.
