Ellen Hooker

Ellen Hooker, 93, of Middlesboro, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home.  She was born September 19, 1926 in Flat Lick, KY, the daughter of the late Woodson and Viola Doan Smith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Carson Hooker, whom she married on December 8, 1950, she was also preceded in death by a son: Ronnie Hooker and 2 sisters: Hazel Warren and Geneva Mills, 3 brothers: Jack Smith, Riley Smith and L.C. Smith.  She was a believer in the Church of God Faith and had been a homemaker.

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Daughter: Judy Hooker

Son: Garry (Elsie) Hooker

2 Sisters: Betty (Daniel) Hensley and Ruth (Thad) Daniels

2 Brothers: Charles (Diane) Smith and Joe (Nancy) Smith

A sister in law: Virgie Smith

3 Grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Amedisys, Bluegrass Hospice Care, Advanced House Calls and Brooke Norris APRN.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Robbins presiding.  The family will meet at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 7 for graveside services.

The family of Ellen Hooker will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.
