Edward "Eddie" Raney

Edward “Eddie” Raney, age 64, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024.  He was born on March 29, 1960, in Middlesboro, KY, to the late Sterling and Clara Simpson Raney.

One of Eddie’s greatest joys in life was his family.  Most of the stories he shared with friends included his wife, children and grandchildren, who he loved with all his heart.  His legacy will live on through the love he shared with each member of his family. 

Eddie loved to be in his garage as much as possible working on anything that he could find to do.  Eddie enjoyed going to the lake, fishing, boating, or just being with his family and friends.  He held a special place in his heart for all of his animals.  

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Sterling Raney and his mother, Clara Raney, of Middlesboro, KY; three brothers, Sterling Raney, Jr., Douglas Raney, and David Raney; three sisters, Billie Jean Hill, Mary Barton, and Kelly Sue England.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Pat Collins Raney; sons, Edward Raney, Jr. and Jason Raney; daughters, Jennifer Raney and Alice Raney, all of Middlesboro, KY; grandchildren, Zack Raney, Madison Raney, Austin Raney, Sierra Higgins, Trevor Raney, Hannah Fleet, Dalton Fleet, Kailyn Fleet, and Jaycee Raney; four sisters, Betty Helton, Cleo England, Ollie Howerton, and Jody Bell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

The family of Edward “Eddie” Raney will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.  

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.   At the conclusion of the funeral service, family and friends will travel in procession to Yellow Hill Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY, where graveside services will be held. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
