Cleda Durham Guy

Cleda (Durham) Guy, age 82, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with her loving family by her side.  She was born on June 20, 1941, in Davisburg, Kentucky to the late Caleb and Effie (Davis) Durham. 

In addition to her parents, Cleda was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Ed and Lorene Guy; brother, Marvin Durham; sister, Janice Dillinger; four brothers-in-law, Tracy, Donnie, Leroy and Paul Wayne Guy; one sister-in-law, Lona Smith; two grandchildren, Dale Steven Guy and Ariana Elena Guy; and one great-grandchild, Hayden Luke Guy. 

Left to cherish Cleda’s memory are her husband of sixty-three years, Lacy Guy; five children, Debby (David) Maiden and Effie (Brad) Nash, of Middlesboro, KY, Terri (Jody) Cosby, of New Tazewell, TN, Randy (Ann) Guy of Garner, NC, and Eddie (Janet) Guy, of Rose Hill, VA; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother Herbert (Kate) Durham, of Harrogate, TN; sisters, Carolyn Daughtery, of Harrogate, TN and Lena (Gary) Treece, of Cumberland Gap, TN; brother-in-law, Wilburn (Vickie) Guy, of Middlesboro, KY; sisters-in-law, Edna Evans, of Goshen, IN and Charlene Heck, of Middlesboro, KY; special granddaughter, Jessica Guy, who helped with her care;  special friend and  caregiver, Jamie Reese as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

The family of Cleda Durham Guy will receive friends on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel, Middlesboro, KY.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Harold Sutton and Rev. Jeff Kersey presiding.  Music will be provided by Eddie and Judy Adkins and Tammy Heck.

A graveside service for Cleda Durham Guy will be held on Friday, June 23,2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Guy Cemetery, Middlesboro, KY.
