Charles Franklin ("Charlie") Daniels, age 85, of Speedwell, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Claiborne County Medical Center in Tazewell TN, with his wife by his side.
He graduated from Middlesboro High School, then went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy. He retired after a long career with Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital, where he also spent many years on the Board of the ARH Credit Union.
Charlie always found a way to enjoy life and make the most of every day for himself and those around him. He was very active in his church. He enjoyed singing in the choir, cooking, restoring old cars and computers and just celebrating life.
He is preceded in death by his mother Effie Jones, his father Charles W. Daniels, sister Eula Rose, stepmother Astola Daniels, stepbrothers Bill Brooks and Howard Brooks, son J.B. White, son-in-law John Hurd and son Charles Matthew ("Matt") Daniels.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Daniels, and children, Karen Daniels-Wilson and husband Tom, Mark Daniels, John Daniels and wife Sandy, daughter Judy Hurd, daughter-in-law Rochelle Woody-Daniels, and brother-in-law James Rose. He is also survived by grandchildren, Matthew Daniels, Patrick Daniels and wife Kendall, Allison Kreipe and husband Daniel, LeighAnn Kelley and husband Jimmy, Jessica Trentham and husband Brian, December ("Cemi") Woody, Billy Dean and Kelsey Dean. Great grandchildren are Annalise Kreipe, Hunter Kelley and Claira Trentham.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Medley presiding.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens, where full military honors will be observed.
