Carolyn Redmond

Carolyn Jean Poore Redmond, age 75, of Middlesboro, KY, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  She was born December 10, 1947, to the late Luther and Irene Davis Poore.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Carl Redmond; son, Bruce Redmond; three sisters, Helen Redmond, Joyce Smith and Judy Tigue; and three brothers, Willard Poore, Verlin Poore and Michael Poore.

She is survived by the following members of her family, children, Carl Tracy (Jean) Redmond, Sheri (Fred) Byrd, Tina (William) Short, Adam (Amanda) Redmond and daughter-in-law Hope Jackson Redmond; nine grandchildren, Chris Short, Chelsea (Michael) Parsons, Courtney and Skylar Redmond, Justin and Tyler Redmond, Brad (Gabby Patterson) Short and Faith and Joy Redmond; four great-grandchildren, Levi, Maci and Henry Parsons, Grayson Short and Baby Short; and three brothers, Roy Poore, Donnie Poore and Jeff (Janie) Poore; and a host of other nieces, nephews and family.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mountain View Nursing and Rehab, The Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center and the nurses at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital in the infusion center, Melissa Idol Price, Tina Fuson and Judy Gulley.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Cawood Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Earl Daniels officiating.  Graveside services will immediately follow the funeral services in the Oakview Cemetery off 34th Street, Middlesboro, KY.

Pallbearers will be Chris and Brad Short, Justin and Tyler Redmond, William Short and Michael Parsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be Skylar Redmond and Junior Maiden.
