"Big Boy" Davis

Charles Edward “Big Boy” Davis, age 90, of Clairfield, TN, entered his Heavenly home on Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was born on August 17, 1934, in Clairfield, TN, to the late Robert and Edna Partin Davis. 

Charles was honored to serve our country in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. Following his time in the military, he worked as a dragline operator for Mountain Drive Coal Company/Cypress Minerals and Four Leaf Coal.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Teague Davis; one infant daughter, Sherry Davis and siblings, Jackie Essary, Tommy Davis, Wayne Davis, Donnie Davis, Lonnie Davis, Reba Davis Moore, Mildred Davis and Earl Ray Davis.

He is survived by his son, Morgan Davis; stepchildren, James, Michael, Christy, and Robbin; step-granddaughter, Brittany, who he raised; siblings, Larry Davis of Clairfield, TN, Kathleen (Robbie) Baggett of Gardendale, AL, and Roy (Louise) Davis of Crossville, TN; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family of Charles Davis will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Clairfield Missionary Baptist Church, Clairfield, TN. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Marshall Freeman presiding. Graveside services will follow the funeral service at Rodgerton Cemetery, Clairfield, TN. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
